The international Valmiermuiža ethnomusic festival is the most ambitious ethnomusic event in Latvia – one of the rare annual events whose main emphasis is on placing Latvian traditional culture in both a modern and international context – world music. The main message of the festival is about the quality of life that can be achieved by living and celebrating in harmony with one’s environment – both with the local, natural environment, as well as the cultural environment and music, from which it is possible to draw inspiration for a modern, open and tasteful lifestyle.
